About the Event
Join us for a movie and snax (popcorn, or bring your own!) as we watch the story of Aaron Swartz, who at 14 years old co-wrote RSS 1.0. Swartz went on to help architect Creative Commons, fight SOPA/PIPA, and was a member of the World Wide Web Consortium, contributing to the development of the common data formats we still use on the web today.
Non-alcoholic drinks will be provided by Sober in Cyber!
Though the movie does touch on the tragedy in his later life after brutal federal interrogation and prosecution, it's truly a movie about technical innovation in the earlier days of the internet and freedom of information.
